Traffic Diverted Around Jalan Merdeka Selatan Amid MRT Construction

Jakarta Transportation Agency has applied traffic engineering on Jalan MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta in conjunction with the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Phase 2 test pit work.

The work itself has been ongoing since August 26 and will end end on September 9

According Syafrin Liputo, Head of Jakarta Transportation Agency, the work was on the south side of the road or the slow lane in front of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

"The work itself has been ongoing since August 26 and will end end on September 9," he stated, Wednesday (8/26).

He stated the slow lane closure would be done on Jalan Merdeka Selatan on the south side. Thus traffic from east side or Tugu Tani would be rerouted to the fast lane, except for Wisma Antara and ESDM Ministry.

"So I call on road users to avoid the roads and follow the traffic diversion in the field," he stated.
